How to Find Good Circle Lens for Light Eyes☆

Hello beautiful people!

This is actually another post I have wanted to write for a long time. I don't think I'm the only person with light eyes who's had trouble with this subject, since circle lenses come from Korea, they are naturally designed for brown eyes instead of Caucasian light ones. Most common problems for light eyes and circle lenses are the color of your natural eyes showing through the lens and making the color distorted or hardly visible, and the pupil "hole" being too big so that the light color of your eyes shows too much. Since most Asians have quite dark eyes, when the natural color shows from the hole from afar it looks like an extension to your pupil, but this effect does not work with light eyes.

The first tip for searching for the perfect lenses (or at least what I do): search the lenses you want from a popular site with lots of customer photos (the more customer photos the more likely you will find one with a light eyed person wearing the lenses you want), and then find the place that sells the same lenses for the cheapest! I have found this to be a really good way to really know what I'm buying. And the other thing you might want to look for is reviews, and if you get lucky, you might find one made by a person with the same colored eyes as you! So just do a lot of research to really find out what you are actually buying, this way you will spare yourself of bad purchases and money loss! Really good sites to find the perfect lenses are PinkyParadise and Uniqso! I can't really recommend any "cheap" circle lens stores, since I go around a lot of stores to find the cheapest ones, and the store almost always changes.. But good circle lens shops in my opinion are HoneyColor, Candylens and Lensvillage,

I have spent countless hours looking for the perfect lenses for my cosplays and everyday use too, and I have found a few really good tips to look for when choosing circle lens, and now I want to share the information I've gathered with you all! Naturally, this is just my opinion with how I want my lenses to look, and you might like a different look and it's completely fine! But I hope people will find this post helpful!

THINGS TO LOOK WHEN SEARCHING FOR THE PERFECT CIRCLE LENSES

1. Pupil "hole" size
(sorry for my crappy drawings)
Like I mentioned above, with light eyes you don't get the pupil enlargement effect, but instead you get an awkward looking light circle around your pupil.. This is why I would recommend to always look for lenses with a small center "hole" to minimize the pupil "halo" effect. Of course your natural color will show through the hole no matter what lenses you wear (especially in the light since your pupils get smaller in hard light), but with small holed lens, you can really make a difference in your look!

2. Go for blended center instead of harsh
This is another thing that might help you to line out the circle lenses to check on! A colored lens that blends into your natural color is always more natural for light eyes and this is why I recommend them. This also helps to minimize the pupil "halo" effect I mentioned earlier.

3. Lens opacity
This is sort of a preference thing, but especially cosplayers usually want the lens color to be very opaque and vibrant, so that's why I would recommend you to choose opaque lenses. But if you are going for a natural look, translucent ones might be more your thing! But for natural looks I would recommend you to get lenses which have a color close to your natural eye color to really make them almost non visible.

But of course, sometimes you may not find lenses that meet all these criteria and are good for the look you want, and you will just have to go for the best option! I rarely find the perfect lenses or good pictures of the lenses I want in light eyes, but since I have done so much research in finding good lenses and I have experience in it, I can usually imagine what the lenses would look in my light eyes, and that way most likely make a good purchase. So the best advice I can give you is: Do a lot of research to find the perfect lenses for your purpose! Don't give up and just choose a random pair! But this is just my opinion again-- I'm really picky in lenses and stingy with my money, so I will do anything to spare myself from bad purchases.

But now I will recommend a few lens brands I have found very good for light eyes!

FOR A DOLLY LOOK: Princess Mimi series
Princess Mimi Chocolate Brown↑
Princess Mimi Sesame Grey↑

These are the only lenses of this series that I've tried, but I just love how well they blend in with my eyes! Especially the brown ones, since it's really, really hard to find chocolate brown lenses that look good on light eyes, but these are just perfect! I have also read a lot of light eyed peoples reviews of the Green lenses in this series and would like to try them on some day!

FOR A NATURAL LOOK: Geo Nudy series
Geo Nudy Blue↑

I have had these lenses also in green and in normal light they look super natural, like I'm not wearing any lenses at all! But of course in bright light your pupil get smaller and you will get a small halo effect, because of the harsh pupil hole. But despite that I love this series of lenses!

FOR COSPLAY: Super Pinky- and Dolly Eye Series
Super Pinky Bright Red↑

Dolly Eye Blue↑

Unfortunately I don't have the Dolly Eye lenses anymore, but they are perfect for cosplay! Vibrant and opaque, although a little too heavy for my preferance. I prefer wearing "lighter" lenses since I think they suit my eyes better, and for that the Super Pinky series is perfect! The center blends a little and the color is super vibrant! Also I find the diameter perfect for my eyes! I have only used these red ones, but I just love them and can't wait to try others from this series!

---

But that's all for now! Thank you for reading and I hope you find this little "guide" helpful, since this is a subject I have struggled with a lot in the past. I really want to help people and teach them things I have learned from experience (like the skin post I did), since it makes me feel really good when someone says that my tips have helped them (selfish, I know). But anyway, thanks again and see you again soon!☆
