Bad skin? Your skin just might be dry!☆

Hello again!

This post is one of the things I have wanted to write for a looooong time! Mainly because ever since my puberty started when I was only 10, I've been battling with bad skin, meaning zits and blackheads. And because I was one of the first students in my elementary school to get those, they have always bothered me a lot.. But back then I just thought that they would go away when my worst puberty would come to an end...but that didn't happen.

Ever since middle school I have tried literally everything to make my skin better; pills, acne skin-care products and even moisturizing my face with 100% purified sea water! Most of the things helped for a while, but never gave me lasting results. Even a skin cleansing at a cosmetologist once in a month didn't help at all! So I was pretty desperate for a long time and just hoped my skin would get better with time.

As it may seem obvious, since I've been ashamed of my skin and had some self-confidence issues, there isn't a lot of pictures of me, especially without makeup. So this is the best picture I could find about what my skin used to look like, at least in the year 2011. And here I'm even having on a ton of makeup, since it's cropped from a cosplay photoshoot picture.. So my skin has never been like really bad, but bad enough to make a dent in my self-confidence. My skin has been worse than this, but like I said, I don't have many pictures of that era.

This is another picture I could find (from my pretty unfortunate gyaru phase--), so as you can see I had a lot of redness going on alongside with the pimples.

So my skin was pretty much like in these pictures for an unfortunately long time, considering how simple and cheap the solution for it actually was. So like the title says, I just have a very dry skin! I think it was back in 2013-2014 when I went for another skin cleansing at a cosmetologist and she was the first one ever to point out that my skin type is dry! She also explained that the dead, dry skin cells block all your pores and create impurities, which made a lot of sense in my opinion. As a solution she recommended me to start using products for dry skin type, exfoliate my skin once a week and drink a lot of water!

And that is how I did and in a little over a month I already started to see huge changes in the condition my skin! My skin started looking clearer and clearer and the surface dryness of my skin started to fade away, making my skin look healthier and cleaner! That is when I realized how important pure skin really is for makeup looks and everything, at least that's what I think.

So this is how my skin looks now! (actually this is a pretty old picture, because my skin really isn't too good right now, since I've been slacking off in drinking water--) My skin is still clearly far from perfect and it probably will never be perfect, because of the scars I have from old zits and because of my tricky skin type, but the change has been huge! Finally, after 8-9 years, I finally have a skin that I can call healthy and beautiful! It really requires a lot of commitment to actually jug down that 2 liters of water in a day, but that is actually the most important thing in cleansing your skin so I would recommend not to slack off in it (like I've done lately..).

I really, really hope this post will be helpful to someone! Hydrating your body and skin probably will not work on everyone, because of different skin types etc. but if nothing else has helped, try it out! You might be pleasantly surprised like I was!☆ Some time ago I actually wrote on twitter about this subject and got several messages later on, saying that their skin is a lot better now, because they've been following what I instructed to try out, and it made me so happy! ;;; I really wish I can help many people with this post, because I know what it's like to live with a bad skin, and it might not seem like such a big deal, but believe me, it'll do wonders to your self-confidence! At least that's what it did to me!

Please comment below this post if you have found this helpful in any way! I wish you all luck in clearing your skin!☆

Steven A. Starphase makeup test☆

Hello lovelies!

Today I received the wig and tie for my upcoming Steven A. Starphase-cosplay from Kekkai Sensen, so I couldn't resist trying out my makeup! We have a small Kekkai Sensen cosplay group planned for Tracon in september, so I'm a little bit early. But I have a bigger cosplay planned for Tracon too, so I wanted to get Steven ready early so that I can put all of my focus in the other cosplay when the time comes. But onto the pictures!

Steven is probably my favorite character in the series and I was really looking forward to try making my eyes look "tired" like his and drawing on the scar! But as you can probably see, I didn't have any red lipstick for his neck marking, so I had to use pink heh.. The lenses I'm using are Super Pinky Bright Red, and I know that darker red lenses would have been better, but I wanted to save money. The wig and tie are from ebay and the shirt is thrifted! I was very lucky to find a perfect one for such a cheap prize! I also thrifted his suit, but I still have to downsize it quite a bit.. My wig might need some refining too.

But onto a little bit different topic now-- You most likely will not see big, fancy posts with high quality pictures in here, since I really want to blog for my own pleasure and not stress about anything, and taking pictures with my phone just happens to be the easiest and most effortless way to take pictures! So I hope you readers don't mind about that☆

I also have two (maybe three) bigger posts planned, so stay tuned and see you again soon!

Introduction☆

Hello beautiful people!

What would be a better way to start blogging, than with a self introduction post? So, my name is Nea (or negsu in the online world) and I'm a 19 year old student from Finland! I have been into Japanese fashion for several years now, but my style is really nothing special and I rarely even put on any decent clothes unless I'm going out heh ;; so naturally a full-on style blog wouldn't really work with me.. Even though I love dressing up nicely every now and then, as a student my budget is limited and I can't afford the clothes I'd like to wear, so in the recent years I have began to focus more on my makeup to bring something a little special in my looks. That is why I decided one of the main focuses on my blog should be on makeup and skincare!

Even though my personal style isn't anything special, I have many style icons, in both makeup and overall style, and I always try to find places and situations where I could bring out my love for the people I admire and take inspiration from. So that brings us to the second theme of my blog: inspiration and the people and things that inspire me! I will be telling you about my style idols, why I admire them and what are my favorite things about them, so I hope you readers will find some inspiration from them too!☆

The third theme of this blog is (as the name tells) Cosplay! I have been doing cosplay for ~6 years now, but most of the years I have been quite inactive. (damn my lazy personality..) But I made a decision last year, that the year 2015 would be the year when I finally get more active with cosplay! It has been going about quite well, since I have already done 4 cosplays this year, which is 4 times the amount I made last year.. So I will also be blogging about cosplay progress, photoshoots, cosplay makeup and other things associated with cosplay, like wigs and circle lenses!

But since I am a person who loves many many other things besides these, most likely all the posts in here, Cosplay & Glitter, will not be about the things I mentioned, So don't be surprised if you find me writing about games or movies, or other things like that!☆

Thank you for checking out my blog and possibly even following me and I hope you will enjoy your stay here!

Love, Nea☆

Meanwhile while I'm making new posts, why don't you check out my other social medias? You can find the links right next to this post! See you soon!
